We’re Moving to Bloguin!

Original Post (July 6, 2011)

Just to give our fans an update, we’re going to be making a transition to Bloguin in the very near future.  We’re still going to be at the same URL and most of the site’s features will remain the same.  This is a great opportunity to improve the site’s appearance and introduce the New York Sports Today network to even more fans.

We’re really excited to begin this transition.  I’d like to thank Kevin DeLury and The New York Rangers Blog for inspiring us to make this move.  The NYR Blog switched over to Bloguin about a year ago, and I believe they are by far the best Rangers blog on the web, and quite possibly the best sports blog in all of New York.

As we know more, we’ll tell you either here, on Twitter, or on Facebook.

Update (July 21, 2011): We’ll be making the transition to Bloguin very shortly.  The site will be at the same URL, so there’s nothing to worry about.

Mike’d Up Cancelled

Newsday had some terrible news to break Tuesday.

Mike Francesa has decided to end his Sunday night sports wrapup show, “Mike’d Up,” after seven years, a person familiar with his plans said. It is not yet clear what WNBC-TV will do with the time slot. Francesa, whose ratings generally were strong, had cut back drastically on his TV schedule this past season, from 36 weeks to 24 — only three since the end of the football season…

With the plug pulled on Mike’d Up, I don’t know how fans are going to get their hard-hitting analysis on all things New York sports.  Hey, you can just come here if you’d like.

The show was often hosted by Bruce Beck, who held the most famous interview in the show’s history.

No one will miss Francesa’s biased, uneducated sports commentary every Sunday night.  Now if only he’d cancel his radio show.

Osama Bin Laden Dead

This is obviously a great day in our nation’s illustrious history.  After ten years of hiding, Osama Bin Laden was killed today by American forces.  His body has been seized and is controlled by U.S. forces.  While this certainly isn’t the end of the War on Terror, it is symbolic of what America is, a force for global good.  God Bless Our Troops and God Bless America.
